In October 2020, the engineering prototype of the microchannel compact and efficient heat exchanger (PCHE) jointly developed by CNOOC Gas and Power Group Co., Ltd., CNOOC (China) Limited Shanghai Branch and HZSS passed the appraisal of the China Machinery Industry Federation, filling the domestic gap and reaching the international advanced level as a whole. It can be used in marine oil and gas/LNG and related fields.

In October 2020, the microchannel compact and efficient heat exchanger (PCHE) engineering prototype independently developed by CNOOC Gas and Power Group Co., Ltd., CNOOC (China) Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch and HZSS passed the appraisal of the China Machinery Industry Federation, filling the domestic gap and reaching the international advanced level as a whole. It can be used in marine oil and gas/LNG and related fields. This move indicates that China can independently develop and produce efficient and reliable PCHE equipment for the marine oil and gas field! The localization of this equipment has great strategic significance and economic benefits for breaking the foreign technology monopoly, improving the level of domestic equipment manufacturing, and ensuring national energy security.

This project is benchmarked against similar international products and is part of the CNOOC Gas & Power Group's project "Development of Microchannel High-Efficiency Compact Heat Exchangers (PCHE) for Offshore Oil and Gas Fields". HZSS has completed the mechanical design and manufacturing, inspection , performance testing of the PCHE prototype and the review and certification of related design documents based on the PCHE thermal design plan provided by CNOOC Gas & Power Group, laying a technical foundation for accelerating the localization of CNOOC's independent core equipment.
Microchannel heat exchanger is a new type of compact heat exchanger developed in recent years. It forms tiny heat exchange channels on thin plates by chemical or mechanical methods, and assembles the plates together by diffusion welding. This heat exchanger has the advantages of compact structure, high heat exchange efficiency, high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance. In the field of marine engineering, printed circuit board heat exchangers can greatly save the construction cost of marine equipment and can be applied to marine platforms, floating storage and regasification units (FSRU), FLNG and other marine equipment. In the field of energy development, new energy generation technologies such as natural gas, nuclear power, solar thermal power generation and hydrogen energy will become the main energy acquisition methods in the future. These new energy systems are in urgent need of printed circuit board heat exchangers. With its high efficiency, energy saving and environmental protection, the economic benefits that microchannel heat exchangers can bring are also very considerable.
The engineering prototype of "Microchannel High-Efficiency Compact Heat Exchanger (PCHE)" has successfully passed the appraisal. This heat exchanger has been rated as internationally advanced, marking that Hangzhou HZSS PCHE products have reached a new level in the field of marine engineering.
